Supporting the investment funds industry

Introducing our new programme

The Institute launched a new programme in early 2019 - the Professional Diploma in International Investment Fund Services which aims to meet the needs of individuals by enhancing their knowledge and skills to deal with sectoral challenges and trends. These include changes in the regulatory landscape, new product offerings, outsourcing / offshoring fund administration activity, increased automation and globalisation of fund hubs. This new programme supports those who wish to continue and deepen their industry knowledge.

A postgraduate-level specialist qualification of note is the Professional Diploma in Applied Alternative Investments, offered in association with the Irish Funds Industry Association (IF). According to a report by PWC, the shift to alternatives is gathering pace and such funds are expected to grow significantly as investors seek higher yields and stronger returns. This makes the advent of this programme both opportune and timely.

The Institute continues to deliver the Professional Certificate in International Investment Fund Services both at home and globally to international students located in Poland and India. Designed and delivered by the industry, the programme is the acknowledged benchmark qualification for the funds servicing sector for over 20 years. The overall aim of the programme is to introduce, discuss and describe the investment fund from its inception right through to its termination, detailing the functions and parties to a fund; the roles, responsibilities and activities of all the parties to the fund; and how each area interacts with each other. We are delighted to support students in the international funds industry to achieve an accredited UCD award.

Students in Ireland interested in the programme or any number of others offered within the International Financial Services prospectus, should note that they may be eligible to avail of funding through the IFS Skillnet, which is dedicated to providing education for the international financial services sector. If you would like more information about any of the programmes we offer to support those working in the international financial services industry, please contact Aoife Rooney at [email protected] or call 00 353 (1) 611 6515.
