Speaker - Gráinne McEvoy

Gráinne McEvoy is the Director of Consumer Protection in the Central Bank of Ireland. She was appointed to this position in January 2018 with responsibility for overseeing the supervision of consumer protection in the financial services industry in Ireland. She also oversees policy making, authorisations and consumer risk assessment. Gráinne was appointed Head of Securities & Markets Supervision in 2014 and held the position of Acting Director of Securities & Markets Supervision Directorate in 2017. She holds a Masters in Investment Treasury and Banking from DCU and a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from UCD. Gráinne joined the Bank in 1997 and has expertise in the supervision of investment funds, fund service providers and primary and secondary market monitoring and surveillance. She has also been directly involved with the development of the Central Bank's regulations and policy for investment funds and has represented the Central Bank at IOSCO Committee 5 on Investment Management and ESMA Investment Management Standing Committee.
