
Áine McCleary
Áine started her career as a Foreign Exchange trader with Ulster Bank Markets. In 2000, Áine moved to Bank of Ireland where she held a number of senior positions in the Treasury and Retail divisions. Prior to her current role, Áine was Head of Mortgages, RoI for Bank of Ireland. In her current role, as Head of Direct Sales in Bank of Ireland, Áine has responsibility for all direct channel sales activity spanning phone, online and digital channels.
A commerce graduate of UCD, with a Master’s Degree in Business Studies from the Smurfit School of Business, Áine is a Certified Bank Director and a Fellow of The Institute of Banking.

Aisling Dodgson
Aisling Dodgson is Head of Treasury with Investec Ireland and member of the Investec Ireland Executive team. Aisling plays a key role in the formulation and delivery of strategic plans; the implementation of best practice from both the Investec and regulatory/ compliance perspective as well as achievement of profitability and long term sustainability of Investec in Ireland. Aisling holds qualifications from University College Cork, The Institute of Bankers and The Institute of Directors in Ireland. She is an active member of a number of Industry Associations including the Irish Association of Corporate Treasurers and The Dublin Chamber of Commerce. In addition to this, she is responsible for the introduction of The Women in Business Programme at Investec Ireland and is a member of a number of key committees within the wider Investec Group.

Bernard Byrne, FCA – Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Byrne was appointed Chief Executive Offer in May 2015. He joined AIB in May 2010 as Group Chief Financial Officer and member of the Bank’s Leadership Team and was co-opted to the Board on 24 June 2011. Since then he has held a number of leading director roles including Director of Personal, Business & Corporate Banking and more recently Director of Retail & Business Banking. Mr Byrne was appointed to the Board of EBS Limited in July 2011. In January 2015, he was appointed President of Banking & Payments Federation Ireland (BPFI) and in March 2016 he was appointed Deputy President of the Institute of Bankers (IOB).

Brendan Lynott
Brendan is Distribution Director at permanent tsb. He is a career retail banker with over 35 years’ experience, having joined AIB Bank in 1978. He joined Irish Permanent in 1997 as Personal Banking Services Manager. He has held a number of senior management and executive positions including Head of Branch Management Services, General Manager – Operations and currently, Distribution Director.
Brendan has an extensive track record across branch banking, retail operations, business strategy implementation, transformational change management, back-office operations, telephone/internet banking, and operational compliance and control.
Brendan holds an MBA from the Graduate School of Business, UCD, is a Fellow of The Institute of Banking, and a Certified Bank Director.

Carol Bolger
Carol Bolger is a Chartered Director and a Certified Bank Director. She has extensive Corporate & Business Banking experience gained in Bank of Ireland and Ulster Bank. Carol is an Assessor with the IoD’s Board Evaluation service and is currently a non-executive director of the Coombe Women and Infants University Hospital and the Health & Safety Authority. She is also a member of the Audit Committee of the Department of Justice and Equality. Carol is an experienced Audit Committee and Finance Committee Chair.
She holds qualifications in Finance, Strategy and Innovation (UCC) and has an Advanced Diploma in Executive Coaching accredited by the European Mentoring and Coaching Council. She is a Fellow of the Institute of Banking.

Chris Davis
Chris joined Future Williams & Glyn in August 2015 as Chief Operating Officer.
He joined us from his role as Chief Operating Officer at Ulster Bank.
Before joining RBS Chris worked in KPMG from 1996 - 2003 as a Consultant and Account Director working with RBS initially on the introduction of the Euro and laterally on the RBS/NatWest Integration, so Chris has always had strong ties to the organisation.
Chris started his career in NatWest in 1987. He worked for nine years in the technology world as a systems analyst and was Project Manager for ATMs, call centres and payment systems. Chris also worked on the set up and establishment of the Euro programme before moving to KPMG.
Chris enjoys spending his spare time with his wife and three daughters.

Christine Moran
Christine Moran completed the Certified Bank Director Course in 2014. She is a previous executive director of KBC Ireland Bank plc where she held a number of senior leadership roles and has extensive experience in the areas of strategic development, audit, and finance and risk management. She was appointed to the Board of CIE in July 2015 and to the Governing Authority of Maynooth University in October 2015. She trained and qualified as a chartered accountant with PWC (Dublin) and completed two international assignments with PWC Belgium and PWC New York and is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland. She is a graduate of UCD (Batchelor of Commerce and Diploma in Professional Accounting). She has recently obtained a diploma in Company Direction form the Institute of Directors.

Ciarán Long
Ciarán Long is Company Secretary of Permanent TSB plc and former Company Secretary of Irish Life Assurance plc. Ciarán has held a range of Senior Executive positions in Irish Life and is a former general manager and Director of the Irish Life Corporate Business division. Ciarán is an Actuary by profession and holds an MSc in Business Administration from Trinity College Dublin, a Diploma in Company Direction from the Institute of Directors and has received the designation ‘Certified Bank Director’ from the Institute of Banking. He is a member of the audit committee of the Department of Social Protection and a former Director of the Retirement Planning Council and is a former Board member of the Pensions Board.

Des Carville
Des Carville is Head of Banking with the National Treasury Management Agency and is currently on secondment to the Department of Finance as Head of its Shareholding Management Unit (SMU). The SMU is a 19 person team comprised of NTMA Banking Unit secondees and Department of Finance civil servants with extensive expertise in debt/equity capital markets, banking, corporate finance, accountancy, equity research and law. It is responsible for managing the State’s circa €12bn of investments in Allied Irish Banks, Bank of Ireland and Permanent tsb; the IBRC Special Liquidation; the Minister for Finance’s interests in NAMA; advising the Minister for Finance on Credit Union policy and a range of other matters. Prior to this role, Des was a director of Davy Corporate Finance (1998-2013) and trained as a chartered accountant with KPMG (1994-1998).

Éilish Finan

Éilish is a Chartered Director and a Chartered Accountant with 26 years experience in the Financial Services industry. Éilish is an experienced Board Director & Board Chairman. She serves on a number of Boards which include: JP Morgan Bank Ireland, New Ireland Assurance Company, MetLife Europe, Social Finance Foundation. Éilish served 4 years on the Board of NAMA from 2009-2013. Éilish spent 17+ years as an Executive Director with AIG Global Investments. Éilish trained with KPMG and carries an Electronic Engineering Degree & a BA in Mathematics from TCD. She holds a Diploma in Corporate Governance from the UCD Smurfit Business School. She holds a Diploma in Company Direction and was awarded the Chartered Director designation from the IOD UK. She holds the designation of Certified Bank Director issued by The Institute of Banking in Ireland.

Emer Daly
A Chartered Accountant and Certified Bank Director, Emer has deep experience from her diverse roles in professional practice, industry, consultancy and as a Non-Executive Director with particular expertise around the work of Audit and Risk Board Committees. She has worked extensively in the financial services industry, both as an executive and a non-executive serving on Boards in Ireland and abroad, and has helped companies through major restructurings, refinancing activities, and Regulatory issues. Currently a non-executive director and Audit Committee Chair of Permanent tsb plc, Lombard International Assurance S.A, and Friends Provident International Ltd., and a partner in BetterBoards, Emer previously worked as a Director of Strategy, Risk and Financial Operations with AXA Ireland and as a Senior Manager with PwC.

Fergus McTiernan
Mr McTiernan is a member of the Board of Directors and Company Secretary of AvantCard Limited (ACL), an authorised Payment Institution and Insurance Intermediary. He has executive responsibility for Compliance, Regulatory Relationships, Risk and Legal. He also acts as MLRO.
ACL is a subsidiary of a Spanish bank, owned by the Apollo Group; a leading global alternative investment manager with total assets of c. $186 billion under management (June 2016).
Mr McTiernan is a Licentiate of the ACOI, a Chartered Banker and a Certified Bank Director. He holds an MSc in Financial Services from University College Dublin and has 25 years of retail and corporate banking experience gained with GE Capital, the Smurfit Kappa Group and Bank of America.

Harry Lorton
Harry Lorton is Chairman of Bank of Ireland Mortgage Bank, Independent Trustee Company and Johnson & Perrott Motor Group. He is a member (and former Chairman) of Royal Liver Supervisory Committee, within Royal London Group, and is a Council member of the Institute of Directors in Ireland.
An experienced Non-executive Director with a proven track record as a Bank CEO and as a NED in a variety of industries, he was CEO of Cork & Limerick Savings Bank, TSB Bank and Permanent TSB from 1991 until he retired in 2002.
Educated at CBC, Cork, Trinity College, Dublin and Harvard Business School, he is a Past President of the Institute of Bankers in Ireland and the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants in Ireland.

Julie O’Neill
Julie O’Neill is an experienced independent non-executive director and strategic management consultant focussed on harnessing energies and skills across the private, public and not for profit sectors to promote sustainable business growth.
She is Chairperson of the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland, Senior Independent Director at Permanent tsb bank and a non-executive director of Ryanair plc and AXA Life Europe. She is a strategic management consultant at Join the Dots - www.jointhedots.ie and also chairs the Audit Committee at Trinity College Dublin.
She was Secretary General of the Department of Transport from 2002 to 2009 and, in a career that spanned 37 years in the Irish public service, worked in strategic policy development and implementation in 8 Government Departments. She holds an MSc in Policy Analysis from Trinity College Dublin and a B. Comm from UCD and is a Certified Bank Director.

Kevin Kingston
Kevin Kingston has been CEO of Danske Bank UK (formerly Northern Bank) since November 2015. He is also an Executive Board Member.
Kevin is one of Northern Ireland's best known Bankers, with some 25 years’ experience serving the business community.
Kevin was educated at University College Dublin, graduating in 1988 with First Class Honours in Accounting & Finance, passed the Final Accounting Examination with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in 1990, holds an MBA from University of Ulster and qualified in 2012 as a Certified Bank Director with The Institute of Banking in Ireland.
He is a past President of Northern Ireland Chamber of Commerce & Industry and a past Chairman of the Chartered Accountants Ulster Society.

Kevin Twomey
Kevin Twomey was appointed as Chief Executive, Bank of Ireland Global Markets on 1st April 2016. Prior to that he held the role of Head of Global Customer Group and has been a member of the Global Markets Executive Management Team since August 2006.
Prior to joining the Bank of Ireland Group in 2001, Kevin worked at the Bank for International Settlements in Basel, Switzerland for 8 years in a number of positions, the last of which he was Head of Fixed Income Portfolio Management.
He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from UCC and is a CFA Charter holder (Chartered Financial Analyst). In 2014 he successfully completed the Certified Bank Director Programme in the Institute of Banking.

Killian O'Flynn
Killian O'Flynn has more than 25 years banking experience with AIB, PTSB, NAMA and BZWBK (Poland), specialising in business banking, strategy, credit risk and operational excellence. Following early branch experience, Killian has developed many relationship banking models. He has substantial lending experience and has reengineered credit risk architecture in many different roles. As a Credit Director for BZWBK in Poland, Killian helped create a new corporate banking model. He was appointed as the first Head of Strategy for NAMA and, most recently, he launched a new SME banking proposition with Permanent TSB. Killian is a Certified Bank Director with a Financial Services Degree from the Institute of Banking and was awarded an MBA with distinction from Ashridge Business School (UK).

Mark Bourke, Chief Finance Officer, AIB
Mark is a Director of AIB and has executive responsibilities for the Finance area. Mark joined AIB Group on 6th May 2014 as Chief Finance Officer and co-opted on to the Board.
He joined AIB from IFG Group plc where he held a number of senior roles, including Group Chief Executive Officer, Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Finance Director. Mr. Bourke began his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers (“PWC”) in 1989 and is a former Partner in international tax services with PWC US in California. He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland (“ICAI”) and Institute of Taxation in Ireland (“AITI”).
He graduated from University College Dublin with a Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Electronics in 1988.

Maurice Crowley
Maurice Crowley is Director of the Banking & Payments team. His remit covers Retail Banking, Capital Markets & Risk and Payments and he is actively involved in banking & payments issues at both national and EU level.
Maurice has over 26 years’ experience in Capital Markets and Retail Banking with AIB. During this time he held various general management roles within the bank, including Chief Financial Officer, Allfirst Bank USA, HR & Market Strategy as well as Product Management and eChannel Development in AIB, Republic of Ireland. Before joining BPFI Maurice was Programme Director for the integration of EBS under the AIB umbrella
He holds an MSc Business Administration from Trinity College Dublin and is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants.

Noel Brett
Noel Brett is a native of Castlebar, Co Mayo and is a graduate of UCD; Christchurch University Canterbury; and the University of Kent. He is currently doing an MBA at TCD. He spent the first eleven years of his career working in the UK for Kent County Council and the London Borough of Newham before returning to Ireland in 1999 to take up a position as General Manager at Mayo University Hospital. He held the position of Assistant Chief Executive Officer at the Western Health Board from 2001 until he was appointed CEO of the Road Safety Authority in 2005. Noel served in that role for eight years. He joined the Banking & Payments Federation Ireland as CEO in October 2013.

Pat McCormack
Pat joined Barclays in 1993 as a graduate trainee having previously lectured Economics at Maynooth University.
Having spent 12 years in London with Barclays investment bank, Pat returned to Ireland in 2008 to establish our Irish wealth business. He is responsible for day to day management of the Dublin team and a number of key client relationships. He is a member of the Executive Committee of Barclays Bank Ireland PLC.
Pat holds a BA in Economics from University College Cork , an MA(Hons.) in Economics & Finance from Maynooth University and Diplomas in Financial Services and Wealth Management from the Institute of Banking/University College Dublin. He is a Certified Bank Director and a Qualified Financial Advisor,
Pat is a Board Director of Age Action Ireland.

Shane O Sullivan
Shane is Managing Director of the Asset Management and Non-Core Units of the Permanent TSB Group, responsible for strategy, performance and operations. Shane has 25 years’ experience in financial services. He joined PTSB Group in 2000 having previously held positions with Bank of Ireland Group, Ulster Bank Group and HSBC Group. At PTSB Shane has held senior management positions in Corporate Development, Debt Investor Relations, Business Development and Marketing. In addition to being a Certified Bank Director designate, Shane holds a first class MBA from Dublin City University.

Terry Browne
Terry Browne is Country Manager for Danske Bank’s Republic of Ireland operations with responsibility for all key stakeholder engagement alongside his responsibilities for Corporate and Institutional Banking in Ireland.
A Fellow of the Institute since 2005 Terry has over 30 years experience in Irish and international banking working as part of the European operations of National Irish Bank’s owners in that period - Midland Bank, National Australia Group and now Danske Bank Group. His career spans 28 years in various treasury roles culminating in his appointment as Head of Markets. He held that position for 10 years before taking over the Corporate and Institutional business in 2009. He was appointed Country Manager in 2012.

Toby Clements
Toby has been Group Chief Operating Officer at permanent tsb since 2012 before which he held Senior Strategy and Operations roles in the build out of Tesco Bank in the UK. Prior to Tesco, Toby was a Management Consultant working in International Financial Services and started his banking career at Barclays Bank. Toby has a Law Degree, is a Certified Bank Director and holds an MBA from INSEAD.

Tom Kinsella, B.Comm, FMII, CBD – Chief Marketing Officer
Mr Kinsella joined AIB in November 2012 as Group Marketing Director and was appointed to his current role as Chief Marketing Officer and to the Leadership Team in November 2015. Prior to joining AIB, he worked in a variety of senior marketing roles in Diageo, working locally and internationally across Europe, Asia and the Americas on a wide variety of leading brands including Guinness and Baileys. In 2015 he was made a Fellow of the Marketing Institute of Ireland in recognition of his contribution to the profession in Ireland and his achievements in driving brand growth across a wide range of brands.

Tomas O’Midheach, BComm, MBS, FCCA
Role: Chief Operating Officer, AIB
Tomas was appointed to the role of Chief Operating Officer in AIB in February, 2016. He has over 22 years experience in the Financial Services Industry. His banking experience has spanned many diverse areas of banking including Finance, Data, Customer Analytics, Direct Channels and Digital.
Tomas spent 11 years with Citibank in the UK, Spain & Dublin where he held several senior positions in Finance. He joined AIB in June 2006 as Business Lead Finance Operating Model and has since held a number of senior executive positions including Head of Direct Channels & Analytics and Chief Digital Officer.
