What is an LCOI?

LCOI (Licentiate of the Association of Compliance Officers in Ireland) is a professional designation awarded by the ACOI. It is available to those who hold the Professional Diploma in Compliance (PDC) and agree to comply with the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) obligations associated with the designation.

The PDC and attaching LCOI designation is one of the recognised qualifications under the Central Bank of Ireland’s Minimum Competency Code for adjudicating on complaints in relation to advice about a retail financial product.

The Minimum Competency Code applies to persons advising consumers on, and/or carrying out other specified functions in relation to, certain retail financial products.

LCOI designates are entitled to use the designatory letters 'LCOI'.  There are more than 900 LCOIs currently in Ireland.
